Profile

Craig Rushing was born and raised in Lexington KY, graduating from Tates Creek HS in 1982. He attended the College of Architecture at Clemson University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Design in 1986. Returning to Lexington, Craig worked for Bennett Architects. He was then offered a commission to design and build several structures at a private resort in Key West, Florida. Completing the work in Florida, Craig entered the University of Kentucky to complete his professional degree, graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1990. This experience included a semester of study under the direction of architect Leonardo Ricci in Venice, Italy.

After graduating and working for Bennett Architects and Ross-Feldman Architects in Lexington, Craig started DC Design, a design/ build company that built several custom homes and residential additions from 1992 to 1997. Craig completed his architectural internship in Fort Myers, FL, joining the office of Sheeley Architects as project manager and lead designer. Returning to Lexington three years later, Craig formed the design/ build company Rc3. Craig is a licensed architect in Florida and Kentucky, a registered builder and earned the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification  as an “accredited professional” (LEED AP). He resides in Lexington, Kentucky.
